Serbian language lessons and adaptation to Serbia

My name is Timur. I’ve been living in Serbia for 11 years and went through the entire school system here myself, from first grade through graduation (I finished secondary school as a programmer). Russian and Serbian are both native languages for me, so I don’t just know the language—I understand how the local system works from the inside. I work with children aged 7 to 18. Sometimes I take on university students or older learners too, if their needs are reasonable and we can come to an agreement. I’ve been teaching since 2024. Here’s how I can help: 1. Serbian language. I use an immersion-based approach. That means we immerse ourselves in the language and learn to understand it intuitively, rather than just drilling grammar from textbooks. I help students become more confident speakers and overcome their fear of communicating with locals. 2. Settling into school. I help children fit in with their classmates without stress. I explain local customs to parents and how grading and relationships with teachers really work here. 3. School lessons and test preparation. I explain school subjects in a way that helps students understand the logic instead of mechanically memorizing everything. I prepare them for tests and help improve their grades. I once won a DMS math olympiad, and my research project for the Regional Center for Talented Students received a national-level award. I have an excellent understanding of what Serbian teachers expect from students and how to prepare for it. I’m calm, patient, and friendly during lessons. I don’t put pressure on anyone or scold them for making mistakes. My goal is to find the right approach for each student, understand how they learn best, and make learning comfortable for them. Lessons last 60 minutes and cost 1000 dinars. I offer in-person lessons in Kikinda and Zrenjanin (there’s a small travel surcharge for Zrenjanin). We can also work online from anywhere in Serbia. The first trial lesson is completely free. We’ll just get to know each other, I’ll assess the child’s level, and we’ll decide whether we’re a good fit.
