Flea Markets in Belgrade: Where to Buy and Sell Second-Hand
Furniture, electronics, kitchenware, bikes — Belgrade has a huge second-hand scene. Here is where to look offline, how the online flea markets work, and which option fits your needs.
Buvljak — the city’s main flea market
Belgrade’s best-known flea market is Buvljak in New Belgrade. It is a classic open-air market: hundreds of sellers, rows of clothing, tools, electronics, kitchenware and just about anything else. It runs daily from the morning, with the biggest selection on weekends.
- Bring cash in dinars — almost nobody accepts cards here.
- Haggling is expected: start around 20–30% below the asking price.
- Test electronics on the spot — ask to plug the item in; many sellers have power sockets.
Kalenić and the antique rows
Kalenić pijaca in Vračar is primarily a farmers’ market, but on weekends rows of antiques and vintage goods appear: tableware, books, vinyl, small furniture. Prices are higher than at Buvljak, but the finds are far more interesting.
Online flea markets: Telegram and classifieds
A large part of the second-hand market has long since moved online. Telegram flea-market chats are popular among expats: items appear fast, but searching is painful — no filters, no location search, and listings drown in the feed within hours.
Classifieds solve that: every listing has a category, price, location and photos, and you can still find it a week later. On Ovdix listings are also automatically translated into 8 languages — you can buy from and sell to locals without speaking Serbian; the chat is translated instantly too.
What to look for where
- Furniture and household goods — at Buvljak and in Home & Garden in Serbia.
- Phones, laptops and electronics are safest bought with an in-person check — browse electronics in Serbia.
- Baby items turn over fast and cost little: baby products in Serbia.
In short: go to Buvljak for the atmosphere and lucky finds, to Kalenić on weekends for antiques, and to classifieds with filters and translation when you need a specific item at a fair price.
