# Ovdix

> Ovdix is a classifieds marketplace for Serbia, Montenegro and neighbouring
> Balkan countries where listings and chat messages are translated
> automatically: a seller writes in their own language and a buyer reads it in
> theirs. Free to post, available on the web and as iOS and Android apps.
> Independent project, not affiliated with any other classifieds platform.

## Facts

- Interface and content languages: English, Russian, Serbian (Latin script),
  Romanian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Ukrainian, German.
- Landing pages exist for 9 countries; the primary market is Serbia (Belgrade
  and Novi Sad carry most of the supply). Countries without live listings
  answer `noindex` rather than showing an empty page — the sitemaps are the
  authoritative index of what actually exists.
- URL grammar: `/{lang}/{country}[/{category}[/{subcategory}]]` for geo
  landings, `/{lang}/advert/{slug}-{id}` for listings, `/{lang}/b/{slug}-{id}`
  for business storefronts, `/{lang}/blog/{slug}` for articles,
  `/{lang}/help/{slug}` for seller help guides. The slug is
  identical in every language; only the `/{lang}` prefix changes.
- Every public route is server-rendered, so no JavaScript execution is needed
  to read a page.
- Currency exchange listings are peer-to-peer offers between private people.
  Ovdix does not handle the exchange, hold funds, or act as a payment
  processor, escrow or marketplace intermediary in any deal.
